Website Management?

A lot of people have asked me about website management services, content management systems, and what could go wrong, when a client decides to manage their own website. I have spent many hours fixing and re-coding websites that have been destroyed by a clients minor mistake, or even better yet, the whole website and any trace of it completely gone! Almost as if they had somehow even magically erased the server, and everything else on it! Or small things like the page scrolling to the left or right, nothing showing up, error messages etc etc.

So I say to all prospective clients, unless you know PHP, CGI and Pearl + javascript, along with some good old fashioned HTML, XML, DHTML, CSS, SQL MYSQL, do I really need to continue?? Unless you can code your own website from scratch, then I would have to state unequivocally, that you should NOT TRY to manage your own website, the content yes, but full control, uh oh look out! BEEN THERE DONE THAT!

Most web site designers only offer their design services and little else, sure they put out some nice looking and user friendly web sites, but what about complete management services? Do they even offer management services, update regularly, change and update links, keywords, search engine placement, or add special graphics when needed?? Probably not.

Several projects have been recently completed and are live and ready. Matt Supinski's Gray Drake & Trout and Eagle Lodge Blog is complete and active with: Top layer navigation structure with child pages and active links. Main navigation below custom "logo banner" with Rainbow Trout swimming.

Man I'll tell you guy's something, it sure is harder than it looks! Coding and managing multiple websites at once. It's a dog eat dug, backspace, hit the letter 'o' and return typing, world! Try keeping everything updated and all your readers interested on a daily basis, geeeesh it's demanding, but I do love it!

Of course I'm not fishing! I'm building websites and another one is up and running for now but still has some more content and tweaks and stuff, but it's up and active here. This is yet another fine example of what you can have in a matter of days for around $499.00 bucks!

Re-Design of KW TREE WORKS

I have been in the process of re-designing some clients websites and the latest to undergo the knife was KW TREE WORKS. Kevin and I go back to the early 70's growing up together in Clearwater, Florida, and he has been a force to be reckoned with in the Tree Business.

I wanted his site to have a CSS Style sheet with the added ability to give his clients a complete content control option. Now they will have the opportunity to make regular changes without losing any of the layout and design features. I have been kicking around the idea to update my 'Design Studio' for so long now that I really needed to change the whole thing, and well of course, you can see that I did! I'm moving forward with my services and keeping my fishing addiction as a hobby for now, especially since everything is frozen around here!

Yes it has been a while since my last post, but things have been very busy around here, and to be honest it's about time! My latest project is Bandit Sport Fishing Charters. Captain Bob Kresse now has a website where you can book a charter trip, and or see the latest catch from his boat.

This is an entry level website that gives small business owners a chance to join the World Wide Web without breaking the bank. Turn around time is 3days from start to finish, and this site is now Live here;

Just completed project for some friends of mine in Mentor who run a great Landscaping business and thought you might want to check them out. If you live in Mentor, you know there is no Curb Side Leaf pick up unless you bag them yourself. But Joe over at JPK Landscape will come on by and vacuum up those leaves right from your curb! It's a fair price and much easier than bagging them, so if you're in need of this and other services offered by them, they will do great work and I highly recommend them to anyone!
